“Mason Webb, B.1994 Grew up in both Carefree, Arizona and Atlanta, Georgia, two regions with distinct topographies, cultural traditions, and histories, has influenced Webb's choice of materials in his art practice. Webb's use of stainless steel or industrial materials, reflect the sleek, modern aesthetic of his upbringing in Carefree, a town known for its contemporary architecture and desert landscape. Similarly, his use of plaster and lace may reflect his exposure to the historical and cultural traditions of Atlanta, a city known for its rich heritage of folk art and textile production.

Webb's work transcends traditional artistic boundaries and seeks to create immersive, experiential installations or Gesamtkunstwerk that engages the viewer on a sensory and emotional level. Through his use of performance, sound, and interactive environments, Webb aims to create a transformative experience for the viewer, blurring the boundaries between art and life. Rather than replicating familiar imagery, his work often presents an abstracted, highly conceptualized interpretation of his experiences. His use of topographies, for example, reveals his interest in the physical and cultural landscapes he has inhabited. He uses this concept to explore the intersections between the natural and the built environment, mapping and distorting the landscape in unexpected ways.” - The Hudson River Museum
